Playful Engagement with Chemistry Lab Equipment in Virtual Reality
HoloLAB Champions is an immersive virtual reality lab practice game show created by Schell Games with support of the Institute of Education Sciences (part of the US Department of Education) and the Small Business Innovation Research program. In the game, students interact with their holographic host, Earl, and camera-bot sidekick, Meyer, who guide them through a series of mini-labs that lead up to a final lab challenge. To complete the mini-labs and earn trophies, students must perform actual measurements correctly. The Training Mode allows students to hone their skills in a free-form setting. HoloLAB Champions is available for free to educators. A freely downloadable Classroom Guide helps teachers to implement this virtual reality lab experience in their classroom.
