The Million Girls Moonshot seeks to reimagine who can engineer, who can build, who can make. Its goal is to inspire and prepare the next generation of innovators by engaging one million more girls in STEM learning opportunities through afterschool and summer programs.
The Million Girls Moonshot provides grant funding and in-kind resources, such as technical assistance, educational resources, and mentorship from STEM experts, to afterschool networks in all 50 states in order to increase opportunity and access to hands-on, immersive STEM learning experiences for girls.
The Million Girls Moonshot Toolkit is a collection of resources and tools for use in implementing the Million Girls Moonshot initiative. These transformative practice resources have been vetted using a culturally responsive and equity lens to foster inclusive STEM learning spaces for all youth, particularly girls.
Four Booster Packs support going deeper into Moonshot transformation practices and programming: (1) Equity and Inclusion Framework; (2) Engineering Mindsets; (3) Role Models, Mentors, and Families; and (4) STEM Transitions and Pathways. Boosters provide capacity built through training and development, or STEM programming through training and curriculum.
Webinars are led by Moonshot implementation partners, researchers, and practitioners, who share effective strategies, best practices, and resources to engage more girls in STEM and engineering. Teachers can register for webinars through the online calendar.
