Camp for Underrepresented Girls Interested in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS)
Since 2010 The GEMS Camp has been serving girls who are historically underrepresended and underserved in STEM. Four unique summer programs cater to girls in grades 7–12 from historically underrepresented groups, specifically Black, Latina, and low-income backgrounds.
One-weekresidential summer camps for girls in grades 7–9 are power-packed with project-based learning, peer mentoring, career development, and fun. Two-weekvirtual camps are also available for girls in grades 7–9. These camps provide “bling boxes” full of activities and at-home daily instruction in Microsoft Teams. For girls in grade 10, four quarterly institutes bridge the gap between middle and high school through college and career readiness. And for girls in grades 11 and 12, two-week international trips foster independence and confidence, career curiosity, and cultural appreciation.
The GEMS Camp website provides more information, including availability of scholarships.
