We Read Too is a freeiOSapp that allows users to tap into hundreds of books for youth in elementary through high school, starring characters of color written by authors of color. Users of the app can view the selections by title, author, or genre. They can also suggest books to be added to the app. We Read Too was developed by Kaya Thomas when she was an undergraduate student studying computer science at Dartmouth College and became a software engineering intern at Time Inc., Intuit, and Apple. She is a volunteer mentor with Black Girls CODE and a Made with Code role model, and has launched Code With Kaya, a YouTube channel documenting her journey in the tech world and her effort to share her skills.
