The biennial Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Teaching recognizes five K–12 classroom educators from across the United States, who employ research-based practices to help students develop positive identities, exhibit empathy, consider different perspectives, think critically about injustice, and develop skills to take action. The 2018 winners will each receive a $2,500 cash award and an all-expenses-paid trip to historic Montgomery, Alabama, to be honored at the Awardee Summit, a collaborative workshop and award ceremony. To be considered for the award, applicants must provide concrete examples of practice and success; secure approval to be interviewed and filmed with their students in their school; contribute to projects that demonstrate best practices in antibias education over the two-year tenure of the award; and be available to travel to the July 2018 Awardee Summit. Interested applicants will find this opportunity on GetEdFunding, a free database sponsored by CDW•G of thousands of funding opportunities for educators.
