Sponsored by the Graphics Communications Education Association (GCEA), the Gutenberg Award recognizes exceptional achievement in the field of graphic arts. Awards are available for Print Media, Web Publishing, and Photography. Entries may be submitted by graphic arts students at any educational level, including those in university, college, community college, postsecondary technical school, high school vocational, high school technology education, and junior high/middle school technology education programs. The instructor must be a GCEA member to apply. A certificate and medal will be awarded to each Best of Show, chosen by the judges from among all first-place winners. Certificates will be awarded to the top three in each classification, representing each educational division and category. All other entries will receive a certificate of participation for entering the contest.
Deadlines: Print Media contest runs from July 1 through June 30 of a normal school year. Entry form for Web Publishing contest must be submitted by June 1 of year entry will be submitted; contest runs from June 1 through May 31 of a normal school year. Photography contest runs from June 1 through May 31 of a normal school year.
