Each month we publish blogs and several newsletters full of digital learning, funding, professional growth, social media, and STEM resources. Below are items from our blogs and newsletters that educators turned to the most in July.

1. Keep It Safe; Keep It Private.
Digital privacy and security have been added to the physical safety of schools. Students are becoming increasingly savvy with technology, but they may not always realize how public their online information is. Because of this, educators must learn how to teach their students online security and safety.

2. Aspects of Effective Project-Based Learning
This blog explores project-based learning (PBL) - a topic that many teachers are interested in, but are unsure of how to implement or understand if it is working, and deconstructs PBL into the five parts that make it effective in the classroom.

3. Neutral, Biased, or Balanced?: Recognizing Points of View in Media
A recent survey report by Teaching Tolerance states that educators have become “medics on the frontlines” when it comes to evaluating news. Since our schools are a microcosm of the world, it will require real-life skilled triaging by educators to meet the diverse needs of all students.

4. Three Skills Students Need to Become Good Digital Citizens
In order to be good digital citizens, students must cultivate a filter through which they view their digital lives and understand online communication. To help students build that filter, we must support them in developing a multifaceted awareness consisting of a number of characteristics.

5. The Magic Beneath the Surface of EdTech
Many times, the magic of edtech tools rest beneath the surface and are only discovered after users have had adequate time to explore, fail, learn, grow, discover, make connections, and collaborate. Learn more about why the latest technology out there isn’t always the greatest in this blog.
