Each month we publish blogs and newsletters full of digital learning, funding, professional growth, social media, and STEM resources. Below are items from our blogs and newsletters that educators turned to the most in December.

1. Game Kits Boosting Math and Language Literacy
Art Set has been the premier iPad app in more than 30 countries around the world. Now the developer, Lofopi Ltd, has completely rewritten the app with advanced artistic digital painting and drawing tools.

2. Civic Engagement and the Federal Judicial System
The Supreme Court Historical Society offers both students and teachers opportunities to invest in their social studies and civic programs, such as The Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers, and a new program, “The Supreme Court and My Hometown,” which will bring young people into courthouses in their communities to study Supreme Court cases that originated in (or near) their hometowns.

3. Child-Friendly Social–Emotional Video Series
A team of school psychologists and researchers at the University of Connecticut has developed a free program to get students to express their feelings or reduce anxiety. The science-backed program uses puppets in short videos to explain concepts and includes kits for students to create their own puppets.

4. STEM Career Engagement Guides
Three new guides from the Voya Foundation’s National STEM Fellowship and the National Network of State Teachers of the Year give educators ideas on how to provide high-quality STEM career engagement experiences for their students. The guides come as jobs in STEM fields are expected to grow twice as fast as those in non-STEM fields, and millions of STEM jobs are expected to go unfilled in the near future, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

5. Hands-on, Live-Streamed Engineering Labs
In 2014 Engineering Tomorrow was founded to create programs that awaken student curiosity and passion for engineering—all at no cost to teachers, students, or their schools.
